– To reduce the risk of serious injur y:
• Check the condition of the power transfor mer s , electr ical cords , plug
and connector s monthly. Keep the power transfor mer and electr ical
cords away from heat sources . Never operate the unit with a damaged
power transfor mer, electr ical cord, plug or connector. Contact your
La-Z-Boy ® dealer for ser vice.
13. Connect the Power Transfor mer connector s .
• Remove the Power Transfor mer from the box and unwind the cord.
• Locate the Power Transfor mer connector at the bottom of the chair.
• Align the connector s and push the connector s tightly together (F I G U R E 13).
– To reduce the risk of serious injury or death:
• Plug directly into a wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord or adapter.
14. The automatic homing feature retur ns the lift chair to the seated position
after power is restored following a power interr uption. This feature may cause
the lift chair to move slightly w hen plugged in. Plug the Power Transfor mer
into a wall outlet.
15. Retr ieve the hand wand from the pocket (F I G U R E 14). Stand beside the chair
and press the toggle lever on the hand wand toward the UP position. Raise
the lift chair until the inner body back panel is slightly a bove the outer body
back panel (F I G U R E 15).
16. Locate the fastening ta pe on the back upholster y cover and the fastening
ta pe on the inner body back panel fla p (F I G U R E 15).
• Pull the back upholster y cover down tight. Fir mly press the fastening ta pe
on the back upholster y cover to the fastening ta pe on the inner body
back panel fla p (F I G U R E 16).
• Press the toggle lever on the hand wand toward the DOWN position to
lower the lift chair.
17. Proceed to the Battery Backup Assembly Instructions.
NOTICE:
To prevent damage to the connectors and cords, it is
impor tant to unfasten all connections prior to removing the back.
18. To remove the back, unplug the Power Transfor mer from the electr ical outlet
and disconnect the Power Transfor mer connection at the base of the chair.
