• User s of medical devices should contact their health care provider before using
this product. Do not use this product if you have poor circulation, are immobile
or cannot sense heat, except as directed by your health care provider.
• Do not use this product w here aerosol (spray) products are being used or
w here oxygen is being administered.
• In the event of a power failure the batter y backup provided may not lift the
user to a fully raised position.
• In the event of a power failure, if you require a lift to the fully raised position
or multiple lifts and recline, a batter y backup system may be purchased
separately. Contact your La-Z-Boy ® dealer for more infor mation.
• Replace the power transfor mer batter ies ever y six months and after each
power failure use.
• Do not operate the unit until the back is installed and locked.
• Before moving the product, disconnect the electr ical plug from the wall outlet
and secure the mechanism to prevent unexpected opening or movement.
Never move the product by the mechanism, legrest, handle, reclining back
or swivel base.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or ser vice the pump or motor. No ser vicea ble
par ts are inside. Contact your La-Z-Boy ® dealer for ser vice infor mation.
• The 1LL/1LM lift chair s are intended for a single occupant, not exceeding 500
pounds . Do not operate the chair with more than one occupant in or on any
par t of the chair.
• Do not allow electr ical cord to be pinched between moving par ts or between
the frame and the floor. Do not place cord under carpet or in a location where
it could become wor n.
• Do not use pillow, blanket, or other cover between the occupant and chair
surface w hen heat is engaged.
• Always unplug the power cord before connecting and disconnecting the hand wand.
• Unplug the power cord immediately if you detect strange odors or fumes
coming from the chair.

-- To reduce the risk of electric shock,
serious injur y or death:
• Do not let children play on or near the chair w hen in use. Ser ious injur y or death
could occur if head or body par ts are under the chair ar ms
w hen the chair is moved from the full lift to the seated position.
• Disconnect the electr ical plug from the wall outlet before cleaning,
moving, ser vicing or w hen not in use for an extended per iod of time.
• Do not use this product if it is wet, in water, around water or any liquid.
• To prevent suffocation keep plastic bags away from children.
• Plug directly into a wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord or ada pter.

electric shock, serious injur y or death:
• Always keep open flame and lit cigarettes away from upholstered fur niture.
Upholstered fur niture may bur n ra pidly with toxic gas and thick smoke.
• Closely super vise children and disa bled per sons using this product.
• Sit down in the unit slowly. To avoid tip over, do not throw your weight against
the back of the unit. Move the unit into or out of the reclining position slowly,
making sure that no children or pets are in close proximity.
• This product has many moving par ts , ser ious injur y can occur if not used
proper ly. Keep hands , finger s and body par ts away from mechanism. To reduce
the r isk of head entra pment and other injur ies , keep children and pets away
from openings and moving par ts in and around fur niture.
• Only the occupant should operate the unit. Never attempt to open the legrest
by pulling on it.
• Do not stand, sit or place extra weight on the ar ms , back or open legrest.
• To safely exit the unit and prevent a tr ipping hazard br ing the back upr ight
and close the legrest.
• Do not use this product if it is damaged. Do not use attachments or
substitute par ts .
• This product is intended for indoor residential use only.
• Provide a clear path for operation of the back and legrest. Place ta bles and
area r ugs at a distance to allow the legrest to fully extend without r ubbing
or interference.
• Check the condition of the power transfor mer s , electr ical cords , plugs and
connector s monthly. Keep the power transfor mer and electr ical cords away
from heat sources . Never operate the unit with a damaged power transfor mer,
electr ical cord, plug or connector. Contact your La-Z-Boy ® dealer for ser vice.
• Do not use unit if power control is damaged or wet. Do not use unit if the
hand wand has been dropped in water or any liquid. Contact your La-Z-Boy ®
dealer for ser vice.
• This product is not intended for use as a health care device. Some medications
and physical limitations may impair your a bility to operate this product in a safe
manner. Consult your physician if you are taking prescr ibed or over the counter
medications , or if you have physical limitations .
