Title: Installation Hardwood/Bamboo Hard Surface Reducer
Rev.:0
Hardwood/Bamboo Hard Surface Reducer
Hard Surface Reducer is used to transition between flooring of different heights. For example: wood to vinyl or
wood to concrete. There are two end profiles. One is groove and the other is step down. The procedure
below is for the step down profile where the step rests on the tongue of the floor. For the groove end profile,
the tongue of the floor will be mated to the groove of the trim.
Step 1.
Position the hard surface reducer between the hardwood floor and the
other surface.
Step 2.
You may have to trim the other surface so the hard surface reducer will
fit snugly between the two surfaces. Mark a line where the excess
resilient floor will be trimmed.
Step 3.
Remove the trimmed piece. Apply beads of flooring adhesive along the
tongue of the hardwood/bamboo flooring and on the subfloor in front
of it.
Step 4.
Place the hard surface reducer onto the glue and press firmly. Press
from left side to the right until the all of the trim piece adheres to the
subfloor and floor evenly.
