• Do not place any foreign objects (e.g. clothes, pots) on or in the appliance. Do not leave

any cooking utensils on the grill plates or in the fondue pot. Do not use any hard, sharp

or edged objects (e.g. knives, fondue forks) on the grill plates. Only use cooking

utensils made of heat-resistant plastic or wood with the grill plates. Do not handle the appliance

or any part of it with violence.

• The appliance is heated by built-in electric heating elements. The appliance or power

cord may never touch hot surfaces. Do not place the appliance or any part of it on

or near hot surfaces (i.e. burner, heater or oven). Do not use the accessories of the appliance

(fondue pot, raclette dishes, fondue forks, grill shovel) with any other heated device (e.g. range).

Do not place any heat-sensitive or inflammable objects (i.e. charcoal, paper, plastics, clothes)

or inflammable liquids on or near the appliance during operation! Do not touch the grill plates

immediately after switching off, because the appliance will be still hot for some time.

Do not leave the appliance unattended, when connected to the power sup-

ply. Do not move or tilt the appliance during operation or immediately thereafter, to avoid

spilling of hot fat and juices causing injuries and damage. Always turn both heating control

dials to the left OFF position “–“, and unplug the appliance when not in use and before moving,

removing a grill plate or cleaning, or for storage. Before disassembling a grill plate, and/or

moving or cleaning the appliance, always allow the appliance to cool down sufficiently. Always

grasp the appliance on its base with both hands for moving or lifting the appliance. During

operation and immediately after switching off only touch the appliance and its

accessories by the handles and operating elements.

• Before operation, always ensure that you assembled the appliance completely and correctly

and the grill plates are properly in place. During operation, always ensure that there is some

liquid (oil, water, bouillon) in the fondue pot, to avoid overheating. Do not operate the appli-

ance without the grill plates properly in place.

• Do not use abrasive cleaners, cleaning pads or any hard and sharp objects (e.g. metal

scouring pads) for cleaning. Do not immerse the appliance, grill plates or power cord in water

or any other liquid. Do not spill or drip any liquids on the appliance or power cord to avoid

risk of fire and electric shock. When liquids are spilled in the appliance, immediately switch

OFF the heating control dials, unplug the power cord and wait for the appliance to cool down.

Thereafter, clean the appliance thoroughly. (See: “Care and Cleaning“).

DO NOT place the appliance or any part of it in an automatic dishwasher.

• Do not leave any food dry on the appliance. Always clean the appliance after each use to

prevent a build up of baked-on foods (see: „Care and Cleaning“). Do not process any foodstuffs

that are probably off. Always keep the appliance and the accessories clean.

• Handle the fondue forks with care, because the tips are pointed.

• Never operate the appliance via time switch or other remote control devices.

• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

– staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;

– farm houses;

– by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;

– bed and breakfast type environments.

Important Safeguards for Electrical Appliances

The appliance is heated electrically. Place the appliance near a suitable wall power socket to

connect the appliance directly to a protected mains power supply with protective conductor

(earth/ground) connected properly. Ensure that the voltage rating of your mains power supply

corresponds to the voltage requirements of the appliance (230 V, 50 Hz, AC, rated for 15 A).
