• If using a marinade recipe or pre-marinated meats from your meat retailer, drain excess marina-
de off and dab with kitchen paper before placing on the grill or cooking in oil as fondue.
• When removing fish pieces from the grill plate, use the grill shovel or a flat heat-resistant
plastic spatula to support the food.
• Cut cheese in slices, ca. 5 mm thick and, in the raclette dishes, place it beneath the grill plates.
• Additional raclette dishes can be used for pre-heating cheese or keeping cheese hot on the
grill plates.

Care and Cleaning
WARNING: The appliance is very hot during operation and even some minutes after switching
off. Always turn both heating control dials to the OFF position (“–”), then unplug from power out-
let and allow cooling before moving or cleaning the appliance or removing the grill plates. Do
not immerse the appliance, power cord or grill plates in water or other liquids.
Do not use any abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads. Do not use any chemicals or corrosive
liquids with the appliance as this could affect or damage the surfaces, especially the non-stick
coating. Do not place or immerse the appliance or power cord or grill plates in any liquids. Do
not spill any liquids on the appliance and/or the hot grill plates. Do not place the appli-
ance, grill plates or power cord in an automatic dishwasher or under a tap.
Always clean the appliance after each use to prevent a build up of baked-on foods. Never
leave any food dry up on the appliance or any parts of it. The grill plates are easier to clean
when slightly warm.
1. Switch OFF the appliance (both heating control dials on “–” position) and unplug from power
outlet. Allow to cool sufficiently.
2. Remove the fondue pot and all raclette dishes and empty the fondue pot/raclette dishes.
CAUTION: Do not clean the appliance or any part or accessories of it with any hard or edged
objects or abrasive cleaners or scoring pads. Stubborn residues on the surfaces of the fondue
pot/raclette dishes can be removed by soaking in warm dish-water before cleaning.
Do not immerse or place the appliance, grill plates or power cord in any liquids or pour any
liquids on these parts.
3. Clean fondue pot, fondue forks, lid, raclette dishes and grill shovel in hot dish-water using a
nylon washing brush or sponge.
4. Remove the grill plates.
