Using Focus Lock
Lock the focus when you want the subject to be off the
center.
While AIAF (3-point focusing) can be used for shots of
this type, center-point focusing is recommended.
Set the focus.
• Position the wide area AF
frame over your subject and
iightiy press the shutter
button halfway down.

focus, the green iamp

• Keep the shutter button

Compose the shot and
take the picture.
• Compose the shot.
• Press the shutter button

• Press the button down

Take care that the distance from the camera to the
subject does not change. If the distance does change,
iock the focus again.
When you are shooting in remote controi easra mode,
the focus remains locked for approximately 4 minutes
after you iock the focus in step 1, even if you release the
shutter button. This gives you time to set the focus
beforehand, compose the shot, and then take the picture.
