Removing the Power Button Board

Follow the instructions in

Remove the battery (see

).
3.
Remove the module cover (see

).

Follow the instructions from
step 4
to
step 6

5.
Remove the optical drive (see
Removing the Optical Drive
).
6.
Remove the keyboard (see
Removing the Keyboard
).
7.
Remove the palm rest (see
Removing the Palm Rest
).
8.
Turn the palm rest over.
9.
Remove the two screws that secure the power button board to the palm rest.
10.
Carefully release the power button board cable from the palm rest.
11.
Lift the power button board away from the palm rest.

surface (such as a connector on your computer).
CAUTION:
To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see
Removing the Battery
) before working inside the
computer.

NOTE:
The power button board cable is affixed to the palm rest.
CAUTION:
Be extremely careful when removing the power button board. The board is very fragile.
