Recovery
installation of the
Simpana 9.0
software fails in
the Appliance
Configuration
Wizard
recovery mode. The Windows application
event log reports a side-
by-side error on
VC90.CRT. This issue is
due to missing support
files on the system
necessary to complete the
reinstallation of Simpana. 1 Exit the Configuration
Wizard.
2 Invoke the registry
editor. Click Start
→
Run and type
regedit .
3 Locate and delete the
following registry key:
HKLM\Software\Dell\P
owerVault\Appliance\DL
Configured.
4 Open a Windows
Explorer and browse to
the following folder:
C:\install\CommVault\
Simpana\Disk1\WinX6
4\Bin\VCRedist\
amd64\
5 Double-click on the
following executable:
install.exe.
6 Choose the default
options to complete the
installation.
7 Rerun the Recovery and
Update Utility.
