Welcome to Artisan™ Link

Welcome to the Dako Artisan™ Link User Guide. This section provides an overview of the Artisan™

Link Special Stains System as well as guidelines on how to effectively use the Artisan™ Link. You

should have already received training from a Dako representative.

Dako provides three documents with the Artisan™ Link system: the Basic User Guide, the DakoLink

Advanced User Guide, and the Quick Reference. The

Basic User Guide provides instructions for

daily operation of the Artisan™ Link. The

Advanced User Guide, which is not discussed here,

provides instructions for configuring and managing the system. The

Artisan Link Safety

Precautions guide provides safety and maintenance guidelines required for the Artisan™ Link

system and a numerical list of all the Alert messages in the language of your choice. The

Quick

Reference gives users abbreviated instructions to quickly start up the system.

Intended Use

The Dako Artisan™ Link Special Stains System is an In Vitro Diagnostic Device intended to automate

microscopic slide based special stains on formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissue sections. The

device is intended to be operated by qualified professionals trained on the Artisan™ Link instrument

in a pathology laboratory environment. The processed slides should be evaluated by a qualified

pathologist.

The Dako Artisan™ Link Special Stains System consists of a slide processor, a desktop computer,

and a slide labeling printer with the following components:
