FGR2-PE Wirelss Data Transceiver
LUM0024AB Rev A
Options:
Any number between 0 and 9.
Description:
The Max and Min Packet Size settings and the RF Data Rate determine the
number of bytes in the packets. Throughput can be enhanced when packet
sizes are optimized. In Point-to-Point mode, the Max and Min Packet Size
settings do not have material impact on throughput unless a data rate of 92
kbps is desired. However, this may have an impact on latency. For example, if
small amounts of data are sent and large packet sizes are selected, there
would be a certain amount of time “wasted” between each packet.
The following table defines the minimum packet size (in bytes) by way of charting the Min Packet Size
setting versus the RF Data Rate setting. Using the default settings, the actual minimum packet size for the
transceivers, in bytes, is 21 in the FGR2-PE.

The following table defines the maximum packet size (in bytes) by way of charting the Min Packet Size
setting versus the Max Packet Size setting where the RF Data Rate is set to 154 kbps. Using the default
settings, the actual maximum packet size, in bytes, is 213.
