Adjustable DC Thermostat

(XXSOLARSTAT)

Adjustable Thermostats for Solar- Powered Attic Ventilators

The Adjustable Thermostat (XXSOLRSTAT) for use with the above Models of

Solar-Powered Attic Ventilators is designed to turn the fan on and off

automatically.

THERMOSTAT SETTING
The thermostat setting governs the “fan off” temperature, i.e., the

temperature at which the fan turns OFF. When the temperature rises 15°

above the “fan off” temperature, the fan turns ON. As the temperature in

the attic is reduced, the fan turns off when the temperature in the attic

reaches the “fan off” thermostat setting.

The adjustable thermostat is pre-set at the factory at 90°. This setting is

user-adjustable. The setting that is best for your attic varies by

geographical location.

A setting that is too low will cause the fan to run constantly; a setting that is

too high will cause the attic to be over-heated since the fan will not turn on

until the temperature rises 15° above the “fan off” thermostat setting.

For Series Models: VX1000SOLAR, VX2515SOLAR GABL

IMPORTANT! THE THERMOSTAT COVER MUST BE REMOVED IN ORDER TO PROPERLY WIRE THE THERMOSTAT. Failure to wire the

thermostat according to the diagram below will circumvent the thermostat entirely, and the fan will not turn off.

INSTALLATION

The thermostat should be installed in such a way that the thermostat

sensor, which is on the back of the control box, is not blocked. Usually, it is

best to choose a location where the control box can be suspended from

one of the rafters.
