2.03 Introduction

Tweco

®

Robotics QRM-100 Anti-Spatter Mist Applicator

is used to pump a metered amount of Protex

®

anti-

spatter compound to the conductor tube assembly. The

application cycle can be applied anytime there are a few

spare seconds in the weld cycle, during part changes, or

during a cleaning cycle.
The compound is injected into the purge line of the robotic

torch and cable assemblies and coats the nozzle, gas

diffuser, and tip on the conductor tube. In addition to

applying the anti-spatter compound, the compressed air

used with the applicators is used to dislodge any loose

particles.
The QRM-100 Anti-Spatter Mist Applicator has a 24-

volt DC solenoid, which is controlled either by the robot

controller or some other type of power source.

2.04 Standard Features

Frequency adjustments from up to 200 pulses per

minute.

Metering device that sets the amount of anti-spatter

applied with every pulse of the pump.

Air Flow Control.

Output air hose.

1-pint reservoir (Optional: 1-quart size).

Mounting hardware.

The QRM-100 Anti-Spatter Mist Applicator comes standard
with the items shown in Figure 1. Before starting the installa-
tion, please read and understand the installation and operation
procedures outlined in this manual.

2.01 How to Use this Manual

To ensure safe operation, read the entire manual, including

the chapters on safety instructions and warnings.

2.02 Receipt of Equipment

When you receive the equipment, check it against the

invoice to make sure it is complete and inspect the

equipment for possible damage due to shipping. If there is

any damage, notify the carrier immediately to file a claim.
