With an efficiency rating topping the 90% mark,
Class-D digital power amps are substantially
smaller, lighter, and more compact than
conventional amps. The reduced thermal load
on components enhances reliability, while the
far faster slew rate and higher attenuation factor
audibly enhances the speed and precision of the
system’s dynamic response.
PodWare/ BVNet for operating and controlling
ICON components remotely
ICON LTS’ user mode lets you control it
remotely via a BVNet interface and a laptop.
Courtesy of PodWare, the included PC software
application, and the BVNet interface that
connects the laptop and the system, you can
manually adjust all the key sound-shaping
parameters such as parametric and shelving
EQs, delay, phase invert, and gain to suit the
given location.
What’s more, you can view readings of all
controlling functions - that is, system, driver,
and power amp protection performance stats -
online in real-time while the event is underway,
and afterwards review the system’s performance
over the last 72 operating hours.
1 ICON System
Components
1.1 IC 112 LA – The Horn-
loaded Mid/High Unit

Loaded with a 12" HK AUDIO Custom Speaker
and a 1.4" compression driver feeding a 60° x 40°
CD horn, the IC 112 LA mid/high unit delivers
remarkably articulate, richly detailed audio images
and exemplary directivity. It also houses a DSP
module, which serves as the given system’s digital
control room. This module sends the signal to a
dual-channel crossover. From there it goes to two
Class D power amps; one delivers 300 watts at 8
ohms to the high-frequency driver, the other 500
watts at 8 ohms to the horn-loaded 12" woofer.
Residing in a dedicated compartment at the rear of
the cabinet, all electronic circuitry is accessed and
controlled using the features on the control panel.
It also provides connectors and LEDs indicating the
system’s operating status.
1.2 IC 118 BA – The Band-pass

The IC 118 BA subwoofer sits in a band-pass
housing. The top compartment serves as the
speaker cabinet for the 18" woofer; the bottom
compartment houses the power amp. All control
signals are routed to the subwoofer by way of the
mid/high unit’s Sub Out port.
Heads up: The IC 118 BA is a system subwoofer
designed specifically for use with the IL 112 LA mid/
high unit. It is not equipped with a crossover, so it
runs without the benefit of frequency separation
and limiting when deployed in any configuration
other than an ICON system. For this reason, always
ensure the audio signal goes to the IC112 LA mid/
high unit’s onboard controller first; that is, before
you patch it into the subwoofer.
1.3 Transport
A convenient dolly is available, making it so much
easier to tote the system. Use original HK AUDIO
ICON covers to gear up your system for the rigors
of the road. Amply padded and protected against
moisture, your ICON system is sure to serve you
well for a very long time to come.
