SOE And Process Historian Package – T8013
Issue 5 Jan 2006
DESCRIPTION
The Sequence of Events (SOE) and
Process Historian (PH) programs
form a software package supplied on
a single disk – Part No. T8013. The
Sequence
of
Events
program
generates a time-stamped log of all
faults, field trips, output actions etc.
recorded by the Trusted
TM
System.
The Process Historian program
provides the user with the facility to
log and record analogue variables.
The method of capturing events is
dependent on the I/O family used.
Trusted
TM
I/O modules provide event
recording at the module. Other I/O
families rely on the I/O scanning
operation. The time accuracy
associated with each event is
specified
by
the
I/O
module
characteristics, or determined by the
I/O scan period. The time tagging
resolution in all cases is 1ms.
All digital input, and input threshold
events are recorded automatically in
the Sequence of Events log within the
Trusted
TM
TMR Processor. Boolean
events on Trusted
TM
output modules
are also recorded automatically.
Other output types require the use of
an Sequence of Events output board
within the application program.
The Sequence of Events log is a
circular buffer resident on the
Trusted
TM
TMR Processor. Events
are entered into this log on an ‘as
detected’ basis. The default size of
this log is 1000 events. Once the log
is full, each new event overwrites the
oldest event. However, using spare
RAM
on the Trusted
TM
TMR
Communications Interface Module, up
to 4000 events may be stored.
The Process Historian takes the form
of a board type available within the
application program, and appears as
an output board to which variables
may be connected.
The Sequence of Events and Process
Historian
software
package
is
resident
on
the
Engineering
Workstation (EWS) or a networked
PC running Windows NT™. This
package reads the Sequence of
Events log and Process Historian
data from the Trusted
TM
System and
presents the information in a user
intelligible form. The format of each
soe entry is:
information are extracted from the
application program by selecting the
appropriate configuration file. These
fields are configurable on a per-point
basis.
The
displayed
colour
corresponding to each state is also
configurable by appending the colour
selection
string
to
the
state
description, e.g. ON_g displays the
ON state in GREEN. The event time
is displayed in hours, minutes,
seconds and milliseconds. If the
point tag is not defined, the string
“??? ” followed by the address of
the point will be displayed. This
feature can be disabled using the
corresponding
control
on
the
Sequence of Events display package.
The Process Historian program
displays the data graphically. The
time-based
sample
rate
is
configurable within the program.
The Sequence of Events program
buffers up to 10000 events which can
be scrolled through using the scroll
bars. The event display may be
copied to the clipboard and pasted
into other packages as required. The
Sequence of Events program print
facility allows all events in its buffer to
be printed directly.
The connection between the PC and
the Trusted
TM
System may be either
serial or Ethernet communication to a
Trusted
TM
Communications Interface
module. Multiple simultaneous
connections are supported.
