This document provides summary information for the different types of Trusted TM I/O Cables available for use in
Companion Slot applications.
The Companion Slot I/O Cable enables all I/O and power connections between the Companion Slot I/O modules and
the associated termination assemblies. Termination assemblies may be located internally within the cabinet, or
externally in remote termination bays. Cables for use in internal applications have the standard sheathing replaced
with Vidaflex for greater flexibility.
The illustration below shows a typical Companion Slot I/O Cable for internal use with a standard Field Termination
Assembly (FTA). Other versions are available, as standard, with different connectors for use with the Versatile Field
termination Assembly (VFTA) and also with flying leads to facilitate connection to other conditioned termination
devices.
In order to ensure that all Safety System applications are covered, Trusted TM I/O Cables are available, as standard, in
either PVC or Low Smoke Low Halogen (LSLH). A code within the cable part number enables the user to specify the
type of cable required, e.g. 01 denotes PVC and 02 denotes LSLH.
Due to the flexibility of Trusted
TM I/O Cable design, it is possible to order cables of any length to within 0.1m. The
required length of the cable is specified by appending a code at the end of the part number, e.g. 2m5 for a required
length of 2.5m. The maximum recommended length is 15m.
As an example, the part number for a LSLH Companion Slot I/O Cable used for connecting analogue or digital input
modules to an internal FTA and 2.5m in length would be - TC-201-02-2m5
