This document provides information regarding the protective metal oxide
varistors (MOVs) and common mode capacitors in the Kinetix 7000 drives.

The MOVs, capacitors, and a sticker describing this issue, are located within
the power terminal block. Refer to the Kinetix 7000 High Power Servo Drives
Installation Instructions, publication 2099-IN003, for more information.

ATTENTION

Kinetix 7000 drives contain protective MOVs and common mode
capacitors that are referenced to ground. In a grounded power
distribution system, these devices assist in isolating the drive
from electromagnetic interference (EMI).

These devices must be disconnected if the drive is installed in:

• unbalanced, ungrounded, or resistive-grounded power

distribution systems.
