Installation Instructions
1771 I/O Empty Slot Filler Card
General Use this empty slot filler card to fill a spare/blank slot
in your 1771 universal I/O chassis.
Installing the Empty Slot
Filler Card 1. Lift the chassis latch or locking bar (dependent on
type of chassis.)
2. Align the filler card with the card guide slots in the
I/O chassis.
3. Slide the filler card into the chassis and apply and
apply firm, even pressure to seat the filler card
into the backplane connector.
Removing the Empty Slot
Filler Card 1. To remove a filler card, lift the chassis latch or
locking bar (dependent on type of chassis.
2. Pull up on the card removal tab to prop the filler
card out of the backplane connector

Snap the chassis latch over the top of the filler card to
secure it. Swing the chassis locking bar down into place to secure
the filler card. Make sure the locking pins engage.
Apply firm even pressure on the empty slot filler card to seat it in the backplane connector.
