IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons, including the following:
•
Read all instructions before using the kettle.
•
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles and knobs.
•
This appliance should not be used by children and care should be taken when
used near children. Do not let the cord hang over edge of table or counter or leave
it within reach.
•
Do not operate unattended.
•
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. To disconnect, switch off,
then remove plug from power supply.
•
Do not operate a damaged kettle. Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug or
after the kettle malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. To
avoid hazards, return the kettle to the nearest authorized service facility for examinaĆ
tion, repair or mechanical adjustment.
•
Do not put cord, plug, base or any part of the kettle in or under water or other liquid.
See instructions for cleaning.
•
Use attachments, only if recommended by us.
•
Do not use outdoors or when standing in a damp area.
•
Do not use kettle for other than its intended use.
•
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
•
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
•
Do not open the lid during boiling. Scalding may occur.
•
Do not operate without water in the kettle. Do not fill the kettle while it is still hot.
The sudden change in temperature might damage it.
•
Use the carafe only with a base that is marked on the underside with

HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming enĆ
tangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exersised in their use.
If an extension cord is used,
1. the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance, and
2. the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter of
a table top where it could be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
