Installation, Initial Start-Up and Operation
4.1 Pre-Installation Assembly
The following procedures are to aid the operator in installing, operating and maintaining
the Thrush Hot-Pak. All procedures are to be performed by experienced, trained, and
certified personnel only.
With any piece of equipment utilizing steam, boiler water, high temperature water
under pressure, and electricity, there is a potential for sever personal injury or
death if proper installation, operation and maintenance procedures are not
followed.
1. The Hot-Pak is shipped in multiple containers. A large crate houses the Hot-Pak
itself and the safety relief valve. Smaller containers house the components of the
stand and any other optional equipment. For easier installation, Thrush
recommends that the installer place the crated Hot-Pak in the intended area of
operation before unpacking the unit. The unit should be located on a level surface
capable of supporting the total weight of the unit when filled to capacity.
2. After the unit has been set in place, it should be inspected to ensure that all parts
are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or damaged, please
contact your representative.
3. Once the unit has been inspected, assemble the Hot-Pak stand as shown in
Figure 4-1. For models with a 6” or 10” diameter bundle, use the inner most set of
holes. For models with an 8” or 12” diameter bundle, use the second set of holes.
