InstallatIon InstructIons v.3.3
The Infrared Motion Detection Sensor is used to monitor the movement of warm bodies in a specific area. The range is a
maximum of 40 feet directly ahead of, and approximately 20 feet to either side of, the detector at 40 feet distance
(Figure 6). If motion is detected, the sensor will cause a dial-out to occur.
InstallatIon
1. Remove front cover from sensor by placing a flat head
screwdriver in slot located on side of sensor, then
rotate the screwdriver.(Figure 1)
Figure 1: Removing the front cover
Warning: Do not face sensor toward the sun with the
cover off. This will damage the sensor.
2. Remove mounting screws from the holes in the PC
board.
3. Carefully remove the board from the pegs before
attempting to screw the back plate to the wall.
4. Use a small screwdriver to punch out the cable-entry
knock-out (indented circle) in the back cover of the
Infrared Motion Detection Sensor.

5. Mounting the back cover to the wall, using the accom-
panying screws and the two knock-out slots for them
in the back cover. The sensor must be mounted with
the long dimension parallel to the floor and ceil-
ing, with the sensor’s window to the left, not up.
The detector can be mounted in either a surface
wall mount position (Figure 3) or in a corner mount
position (Figure 4). Recommended (most effective)
mounting height is 4.5 feet.

6. Run two wires through the cable knockout hole and
connect them to the small terminal block (Output) on
the side of the on the infrared circuit board opposite
the reflector unit. (See Figure 5.)
Note: The sensor wiring is not polarity sensitive. It
does not matter which wire goes to which screw ter-
minal.
