d. Install large breather hose and one way valve
onto fitting at rear head and spigot on throttle
body.
See Picture 22 and 23.
Valve in Picture 22 is a one-way valve. It must be
installed with the white end facing the engine. The valve
allows air out of the motor, but not back in. Do not leave
the one way valve out of the system! Leaving it out will
cause a vacuum leak at the intake manifold, and poor
engine operation.

head cap crews that attach the throttle body to
the manifolds and coat the threads with Loctite
®
242 or equivalent. Replace the screw but do
NOT tighten at this time.
f. Repeat for the remaining three (3) screws. DO
NOT TIGHTEN SCREWS AT THIS TIME.
F. Air Intake Installation
Two types of air intakes are available for the induction
system:
1. Tuned Intake Runners
2. Teardrop Air Cleaner
(Install per the appropriate section listed next.)
1. Tuned Intake Runner Installation
a. Attach the support bracket to the intake runner
using the two (2) 5 /

"-18 button head screws with
the pre-applied thread locker. Leave fasteners
just loose enough to allow bracket to slide within
the slotted holes, but tight enough to hold support
bracket against the runner.
See Picture 24.
b. Place a throttle body gasket between the
runner and throttle body and begin to attach the
runner and bracket assembly to the throttle
body. Use shims between the support bracket
and head breathing fittings as necessary. The
manifold/throttle body assembly should still be
loosely installed to allow the assembly to line
up so the support bracket will attach to the head
breathing fittings.
c. Install the four (4) runner to throttle body
screws, and coat the threads with Loctite
® 242
or equivalent. The short 1 /
