17. The engine oil pressure gauge (Figure 55) will indicate

the oil pressure (kg/ cm

of the engine. Under normal

operating conditions the oil pressure is approximately

19. The

tachometer gauge (Figure 57) will indicate the

speed of the engine when the generator is operating.
Under normal operating conditions this speed is
approximately 1800 RPM’s.

18. The

coolant temperature gauge (Figure 56) will indicate

the coolant temperature. Under normal operating
conditions the coolant temperature should be between
167 and 203 degrees Fahrenheit (

Green Zone).

22. Place the

G.F.C.I. and aux. circuit breakers (Figure 60) in the

OFF” position prior to starting the engine.

16. The ammeter (Figure 54) will indicate zero amps with no

load applied. When a load is applied, the ammeter will
indicate the amount of current that the load is drawing
from the generator.

20. Press the

main circuit breaker “ON” switch (Figure 58).

21. Verify that the

main circuit breaker “ON” lamp (Figure 59)

is lit (ON).
