Installation
1. Power off the source and destination devices which will be connected to the
baluns.
2. Verify the modular outlets and cross connects to which you will connect the S-
V1AR are configured properly and labeled appropriately to identify the circuit.
3. Verify the desired twisted pairs are not being used for other LAN or telephone
equipment.
4. Connect the S-V1AR to the video port of the destination equipment. If desired,
connect the second output to a secondary destination device.
5. Connect one end of the twisted pair cable to the S-V1AR balun.
6. Connect a compatible transmit balun to the video port on the source equipment.
7. Connect the other end of the twisted pair cable to the second balun. The twisted
pair pinout on both the send and receive baluns should match.
8. Connect the 12V power supply to the S-V1AR. Verify the power LED is
illuminated.
9. Power on the source and destination equipment.
10. Verify picture quality. If necessary, adjust the Distance Adjust dipswitches on the
bottom of the unit.
Caution: Do not attempt to disassemble or alter the balun housing. There are no
user-serviceable parts inside the unit. Doing so will void your warranty.
Caution: Do not connect the balun to a telecommunication outlet wired to
unrelated equipment. Doing so may damage the unit or any connected equipment.
Ensure all connected twisted pair cabling is straight-through (point-to-point).
Caution: To minimize the possibility of equipment damage from electrostatic
discharge (ESD), all source and destination equipment must be powered off during
installation. This includes signal extenders, splitters, and switches.
Note: For your convenience, it is recommended that you uniquely mark the ends
of the twisted pair cable before pulling them through a wall or conduit.
