MITER 5000 - Conversion Addendum
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ BEFORE ASSEMBLY
Your new Miter 5000 is factory confi gured for use
on the left side of your blade. This confi guration
works well with right hand blade tilt table saws. If
you have a right tilt table saw proceed directly to the
instructions in the included owner’s manual. If you
have a left hand blade tilt table saw, the Miter 5000
can be converted for use on the right side of the
blade. Just follow the instructions below.
1) Remove the hex bolt and the 1⁄4 x 3⁄4 pivot
shoulder bolt and washers that secure the protractor
head to the miter sled and lift the protractor top
and bottom plates off. (Retain the 1⁄2” o.d. steel
washer located in the recess on the sled base for
reassembly.) See Fig. 1.
2) Remove the (4) Phillips fl at head screws that
secure the Miter 5000 mounting plate assembly
to the sled base. Now reattach the mounting plate
assembly into the recess located on left side of
the sled base. See Fig. 2. Place the 1⁄2” o.d. steel
washer in the recessed hole on the Miter 5000 sled
base as shown.
3) Now replace the protractor top and bottom
plates and reinstall the 1⁄4 x 3⁄4 pivot shoulder bolt
and washer. See Fig. 3.
4) You can now continue using the instructions in
the owner’s manual. Just remember that you are
setting up the unit for use on the right side of the
blade. During assembly, when the owner’s manual
makes reference to the right miter slot, instead
right
right
perform the assembly instruction in the left miter
left
left
slot. Conversely, when the owner’s manual calls for
the left miter slot, perform the assembly instruction

in the right miter slot. Refer to

proper orientation during assembly.
TELESCOPING FENCE CONVERSION
If you are converting your Miter 5000 for use on the
right side of the blade, you will need to place the 4”
fence section at the right end of the longer fence. If
your fence does not already have a mounting hole
at the right end, drill a 17/64” dia. hole as shown in
Fig. 5. The hole should be centered on the groove
located on the fence extrusion.
Replace the existing fence scales with the included
reverse reading scales. The extender bar scales do
not need to be reversed.
