INSTAllATION INSTRuCTIONS
7. To prevent leaks, wrap threads
of hose barb with Teflon tape
clockwise, approximately 3 times
around.
8. Reinstall drain line hose barb.
Turn clockwise to tighten until
snug.
9. CAuTION - dO NOT OvER-
TIghTEN! Hand tighten plus a
half turn with a wrench.
10. Position softener near main wa-
ter supply line, drain and elec-
trical outlet. Position so main
water supply shut-off valve is
between softener and main
water source.
NOTE: Install unit in an area pro-
tected from the elements and freez-
ing.
11. Close main water supply shut-
off valve.
12. Open nearest faucet to relieve
pressure and drain plumbing
lines.
13. On a new installation not
already plumbed for a water
softener, cut out section of main
water supply line downstream
from the supply shut off, at posi-
tion softener is to be installed.
14. Attach bypass valve to the back
ports of the softener control
valve by sliding the bypass over
the o-rings. Orient metal adapter
clips and tighten.
