Understanding the Endpoint Resolver Service
The Endpoint Resolver web service has one operation, and responds either with
an endpoint URL or an exception:
• Your application sends a GetServiceEndpoint request which contains your
API license key, the email address of your user, and the service your
application is using to manage this user. For more information about an API
license key, see “API License Key” on page 19.
• The Endpoint Resolver:
• Validates your API license key
• Searches the Data Center’s system clusters for the system with the user’s
domain
• Locates the requested web service’s location on the user’s system.
• If successful, the Endpoint Resolver returns the web service’s Endpoint URL.
Otherwise an exception is returned.

Summary Endpoint Resolver performs an endpoint lookup for a specified service for a
user, and returns the service URL.
Authorization A valid API license key. See “API License Key” on page 19.
