LEARNING THE BASICS
TURNING ON THE POWER
To turn on the camera in the
Record mode (p. 41 ~ 82),
slide open the lens barrier on
the camera.
• The remaining battery power,
number of storable pictures
and selected recording mode
will be displayed on the control
panel.
To turn on the camera in the
Display mode (p. 83 ~ 99),
press the LCD monitor
ON/OFF button with the lens
barrier closed.

Note:
• NEVER open the card cover, eject the card, remove the batteries, or pull
the plug while the camera is in operation. It may destroy the data in the
card.
• If you do not operate the camera for three minutes, the camera will be
set to the stand-by mode. After four hours in the stand-by mode, the
power turns off automatically. (Time varies depending on the type of
batteries used.)
