– If an image data encryption key has already been registered, the
Set Image Data Encryption Key screen appears so that the encryp-
tion key can be changed or canceled.
– When the image data encryption key is registered, changed or can-
celed, the hard disk must be formatted.

Type in the image data encryption key (20 characters long), and then
touch [OK].
– The image data encryption key must contain 20 characters.
– Do not specify an image data encryption key that is 20 times the
same character.
– Be sure to keep the specified image data encryption key in a safe
place so that it will not be lost.

Retype the image data encryption key specified in step 6, and then
touch [OK].
The message “Turn the main switch OFF and ON.” appears.
– When turning the main power switch off, then on again, wait at least
10 seconds before turning it on, otherwise the copier may not func-
tion normally.

Follow the instructions in the screen and use the main power switch to
turn off the machine.
