6 Useful transmission functions
6.1 List of functions on the Settings screen
Following functions are displayed on the Scan Settings, Original Settings and
Communication Settings screens.
Scan Settings
Screen display Description
Basic settings [Original type], [Simplex/Duplex], [Resolution],
[Density], [Separate Scan] are set.

[Quality Adjustment] Color Specify to send faxes in color. → page 2-17

You can only send faxes in color
when using the IP address fax func-
tion.
[Background Remov-
al] Adjusts the density of background color of the
document.

[Sharpness] Emphasizes the character edges. → page 6-9
[Erase] [Frame Erase] Erases the black shadow on Top, Bottom,
Right, and Left of original when a booklet is
scanned.

[Book Scan] [Book Copy] When book or catalog is scanned, it scans a
spread as separate left and right pages and
faxes 1 page at a time.
