When first turning the unit on, the segments of the display will appear as shown below. This display will
remain for approximately 5 seconds and then reset to 0.
OPERATION____________________________________________________
When all segments flash on the display, this indicates the batteries are low
Battery Replacement:
DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE & DO NOT PRESS ON THE TRAY!!!
1) Four "AAA" size alkaline batteries are required.
2) To install batteries:
a) Release both battery covers by holding the tab and pulling out-wards.
b) Place batteries into battery compartment aligned correctly.
c) Replace battery cover.
3) The scale is now ready for battery operation.
(Advanced users only) CALIBRATION
NOTE: These instructions are for the 2000-2005 models only.
If you have a 2006 or later Durascale DO NOT FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW - Please see the

IMPORTANT: This scale was professionally factory calibrated before shipment and does NOT need to be
recalibrated by the end user. However, if you wish to recalibrate your scale we provide these
instructions for calibration: Repeat calibration if the scale performs inaccurately. Incorrect calibration
can occur if you do not follow the steps exactly. You will need a 50gram weight or set of weights to
calibrate this scale (included in the box).
DURASCALE 50 Easy Calibration:
There are two models of the Durascale. The older Durascales need to begin calibration with the scale
turned OFF. The newer Durascales need to begin calibration with the scale turned ON
*Start with the scale powered off or on as per above and nothing on the weighing platform.
