Insert the Battery and a Memory Card
Before inserting batteries or memory cards, rotate the power
switch to OFF.

Open the battery-chamber/memory
card slot cover.
Unlatch (q) and open (w) the battery-
chamber/memory card slot cover.

Insert the battery.
Insert the battery in the orientation
shown (q), using the battery to keep the
battery latch pressed to one side.
The
latch locks the battery in place when the
battery is fully inserted (w).

Inserting and Removing Batteries and Memory Cards
Always turn the camera off before inserting or removing batteries or
memory cards.
A
No Memory Card
If the camera is turned off with a charged
EN-EL14a battery and no memory card inserted,
S will be displayed in the control panel and
viewfinder.
