Troubleshooting

This chapter contains information on how to troubleshoot the switch in the
event that a problem occurs.

Note

If after following the instructions in this chapter you are unable to
resolve the problem, contact Allied Telesis Technical Support for
assistance. Refer to “Contacting Allied Telesis” on page 14 for
contact information.

Power Supply A/C LED is Off

If the A/C LED on a power supply is OFF, indicating that the unit is not
receiving power, do the following:

Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to the power source
and to the AC connector on the back panel of the switch.

ˆ

Verify that the power outlet has power by connecting another device to
it.

ˆ

Try connecting the unit to another power source.

ˆ

Try using a different power cord.

ˆ

Verify that the voltage from the power source is within the required
levels for your region.

LINK/ACT Port LED is Off

The LINK/ACT LED may be found next to the following ports and line
cards:

ˆ

Network Management port on the AT-SBx31CFC Line Card.

ˆ

Ports 0 - 23 on the AT-SBx31GP24 PoE Line Card

ˆ

Ports 0 - 3 on the AT-SBx31XZ4 Line Card

If a LNK/ACT LED is OFF, do the following:
