Operating and installation instructions
Pneumatic actuators - FA160-800
6.0 Putting the valve into operation
Before putting a new plant into operation make sure that:
- Attention paid that the control pressure connection has been properly installed.
- Check to make sure that all mobile, exterior parts can move freely.
- All applicable, current information given in the operating manuals for additional parts (e.g.
solenoid valve, ...) have been observed.
- At incorrect operation check all done assembly and adjustment works, correct where
appropriate.
7.0 Disassembly of the actuator unit from the valve
The following points should be taken into account basides the general principles governing
installation work:
7.1 Disassembly by operation mode „Spring closes“
- Depressurise the control line and disconnect it from the bottom of the body. The actuator
stem is now fully extended and the valve is closed.
- Using an Allen key, slightly loosen the hexagon socket bolts (pos. 46) on the coupling
between the actuator and valve stem.
- Loosen the lock nut (pos. 50.5), then slightly loosen the actuator. Completely unscrew the
hexagon socket bolts on the coupling between the actuator and valve stem and lift off the
two coupling halves (pos. 45) (warning: risk of injury!).
- The actuator can now be unscrewed from the bonnet of the FABA-Supra.
7.2 Disassembly by operation mode „Spring opens on air failure“
- Apply 1 bar control air pressure to the actuator at the connection on the top of the body via
the control line. The stem (pos. 50.1) is now extended.
- Using an Allen key, completely unscrew the hexagon socket bolts (pos. 46) on the
coupling between the actuator and valve stem, then lift off the two coupling halves
(pos. 45).
- Now reduce the control air pressure; the stem (pos. 50.1) is inserted into the actuator
(warning: risk of injury!). When the actuator stem is fully inserted, disconnect the control
line from the top of the body.
- Loosen the lock nut (pos. 50.5), then loosen the actuator. The actuator can now be
unscrewed from the bonnet of the FABA-Supra.
ATTENTION !
Before putting a new plant into operation or restarting a plant after repairs or
modification, always make sure that:
- All works has been completed!
- The valve is in the correct position for its function.
- Safety devices have been attached.
ATTENTION !
- Due to safety reasons, the system must be driven down prior to disassembly of
the actuator unit (in a pressureless state!).
ATTENTION !
- A control air pressure of 1 bar must be applied to the actuator when the
coupling halves are disassembled.
