5.5 Retrofit procedure for "Spring closes" operating mode
- Move the valve into the "half open" (neutral bellows) position using the handwheel.
Loosen the nut (pos. 42) on the handwheel's upper stem, then pull the handwheel off the
square on the upper stem.
- The valve coupling (pos. 45) between the upper and lower stem can be loosened using an
Allen key. Pull off the coupling halves after completely unscrewing the hexagon socket
bolts (pos. 46).
- Using a suitable tool (e.g. a drift), drive the straight pin (pos. 14) into the threaded bush
(pos. 15) on the valve. The threaded bush can now be unscrewed.
- Screw the actuator onto the valve so that the two coupling halves (pos. 45) can be
connected to the valve and actuator stem (pos. 50.1). Screw the two coupling halves
together with the hexagon socket bolts (pos. 46), but not tight.
- Screw the actuator onto the bonnet as far as it will go while steadying it on the flat (pos.
50.2) and tighten it to the specified torque (refer to the table). Screw the lock nut (pos.
50.5) against the bonnet and tighten it to the specified torque (refer to the table).
- Tighten the hexagon socket bolts (pos. 46) on the coupling to the specified torque (refer to
the table).
- The actuator is now completely mounted and the control line can be connected at the
bottom.
The FABA-Supra valve is closed by the spring force if the control air pressure fails.
For the maximum closing pressure of the individual valves, refer to 4.5.
