Do I need to run a navigation session on my phone before connecting it to the Sony Head Unit?
If a navigation session is already running on your phone, it will continue seamlessly on the Sony Head Unit once you
plug in your phone. However, you do not need to have the TeleNav GPS app running before plugging it into Sony.
Simply choose the Telenav logo on the Sony Home screen, then launch the app on your iPhone. You may then continue
your interactions on the Head Unit.
Can I use Voice Command to speak in an address on the Head Unit?
At this time, Telenav GPS Navigator does not support voice entry when plugged into the Sony Head Unit.
Can I listen to music during a navigation session?
Yes. Simply choose the iPod icon on the navigation map. When spoken navigation directions are delivered through the
car’s speakers, the music playing will dim.
How do I use the touch-screen functions of the Head Unit?
The Sony Head Unit supports a single-touch or drag-to-pan motion, so you will not be able to use the pinch-to-zoom
feature as you do on your iPhone. To zoom the map, use the on-screen “+” and “-“ keys.
When my iPhone is connected with the Sony Head Unit, am I able to use the other functions of the phone?
Your phone will lock out when you connect to the Sony Head Unit. You can use most of the Telenav GPS Navigator app
features directly from the car’s Head Unit. However, you cannot use other features or apps on your phone while it is
connected, with the exception of making and receiving phone calls.
How do I handle phone calls during a navigation session? Will I be able to continue my route once I end the
phone call?
There are two scenarios for handling calls while your phone is plugged into the Head Unit:
