6. Before beginning the wiring portion of the installation disconnect the negative battery terminal. If necessary consult a
shop manual for the car you are working on. Connect the wiring harness from the FIC controller to the heating/cooling
unit. Connect the Pressure transducer to the control unit. Wiring the FIC controller is a simple two-wire connection (Power
& Ground) with an “ON”-“OFF” toggle switch in line. The NX FIC is capable of operating with either 12-volt or 16-volt
systems. When wiring for a 16 volt system you must cut the blue wire on the FIC unit (Figure 3). The FIC Controller
is capable of operating two FIC units for dual bottle setups. Order PN SPEED00022 for dual bottle operation; this part
number is the heating/cooling unit only. If desired a 10
amp fuse (not included) may be installed in the power
supply line to the FIC, if dual heating/cooling units are
used a 20 amp fuse is required.
Control Unit LED display(In order):
Green: Flashes when pre-set pressure is achieved
Yellow: Cooling mode
Red: Heating Mode
Green: This green indicator lights continuously if the unit is operating properly. If this indicator light is fl ashing:
Flashes once, then pauses and fl ashes again continuously, if no pressure is sensed. (Bottle valve is closed or nitrous bottle
is empty)
Flashes twice, then pauses and fl ashes twice again continuously if no change in pressure occurs within 10 minutes of FIC
activation. (Line has pressure but the bottle valve is closed; or low nitrous level in bottle not allowing a pressure change
in 10 min.)
After wiring the system as per instructions, open the bottle and turn the arming switch on. The bottom green LED should
light with one of the other indicators glowing to show bottle pressure status.
