5. When installing the bearing,
the black caps provided should
be placed at both ends of the
column against the bearings.
This prevents your impacts
from hitting the inner races
of the bearings. The lower
bearing can then be tapped in
place.
6. Once the bearing is installed
the tube can be slid on the shaft
and then the wavy washer and
locking collar can be installed
loosely.
7. Stand the column on its head
and push down on the locking
collar. This will slightly load
the washer. Once there is
pressure against the washer…
tighten the locking collar with
the set screw.
