domain configurations. Launch the Virtual Connect Manager web console to diagnose the module
which raised the alert.

When a static domain IP is configured, any alert raised from a Primary VC module
will have the source IP of the domain IP instead of the Primary module IP

This is expected behavior. When a domain IP is configured the internal Virtual Connect domain
implementation overrides the primary IP with the domain IP. Due to this, when an alert is raised
from a primary module it will have the source IP corresponding to the domain IP.

When an Ethernet/Flex Fabric/FC module's power is switched off its Uplink status
shows “Healthy”, but the Port status property shows “Not Linked” in the Ethernet/Flex
Fabric/FC Uplink Ports State view

In the HP Virtual Connect Management Pack each health component’s health status is by default
mapped to “Healthy”, in accordance with other MPs. In this scenario, following the internal VC
domain implementation, the uplink connected to the powered-off module may have another status
but in the VC MP it is mapped to “Healthy”.

Launch the VCM web console to identify the actual status of the uplink port. Ensure that the
corresponding module is powered on when the Port Status property of the uplink shows “Not
Linked” but the overall health status of the uplink is “Healthy”. Note that Port Status property is not
applicable for an FC module.

Managing a VC domain via any VCEM web console

This feature is not supported in the HP Virtual Connect Management Pack. There are no console
tasks to allow a connection to the HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager web console. The HP
Virtual Connect Management Pack will only show to which VCEM web console the domain is
connected, and whether it is locked by the Enterprise Manager. In the Domain State view find the
properties Enterprise Manager and Enterprise Manager Lock State to see the IP address of the
Enterprise Manager and the lock status.
