ELMM Connection Configuration Overview

ELMM Connection Configuration Overview

In order for the ELMM software to control an ACL, the ACL control path must be
configured from a NonStop NS-series or Blade server to the ACL. The server controls
the movements of the ACL’s robotic cartridge shuttle. The ACL must be configured in
random access mode to allow the ELMM software to run.

HP NonStop NS-Series Servers

The ACL control path can be configured to run on a Fibre Channel ServerNet adapter
(FCSA) on a NonStop NS-series server.

Example:

SCF> ADD SCSI $M8701A, SENDTO STORAGE, PRIMARYLOCATION
(110,2,3), PRIMARYSAC 1, PRIMARYPORTNAME 100000E00D00F000,
LUN 0

HP NonStop Blade Systems

NonStop Blade systems can connect to the ACL by means of a CLIM (CLuster
I/O Module). Each CLIM provides access to the ACL

through a Fibre Channel

port.

For more information on connecting devices to the CLIM, see the NonStop
CLuster I/O Module (CLIM) Installation and Configuration Guide.

To add the control path to the server configuration database, use the SCF ADD SCSI
command. Before issuing this command, check that the device is installed properly.

To add the control path:

-> SCF

-> ADD SCSI

$M870xA

, SENDTO STORAGE, BACKUPCPU 1, LUN 52,

PRIMARYCPU 0, PRIMARYCLIM S100233

-> START SCSI

$M870xA

-> STATUS SCSI

$M870xA

, DETAIL

Note. LUN in SCF should be 0 for the ACL that is on Bus 0. Lun in SCF should be 2 for the
ACL that is on Bus 1.
