NOTE: When using USB tethering, your
phone can be connected to 3G network only. You
will not be able to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
To share your phone’s data connection as a
portable Wi-Fi sharing (Wi-Fi tethering)
On the Home screen, touch the Applications tab
and select Settings.
Touch Wireless & networks and select Tethering
& Wi-Fi sharing.
Touch
Wi-Fi sharing to turn on the function. A
checkmark indicates that the function is active.
After a moment, the phone starts broadcasting
its Wi-Fi network name (SSID) so you can
connect to it with up to eight computers or
other devices. An ongoing notification
is added to the Status Bar and Notifications
Panel.
When
Wi-Fi sharing is checked, you can
change its network name or secure it.
Uncheck Wi-Fi sharing to stop sharing your data
connection via Wi-Fi.
To rename or secure your portable sharing
You can change the name of your phone’s Wi-Fi
network name (SSID) and secure its Wi-Fi network.
