attention.to.the.variables.that.affect.how.sound.travels.
in.the.water.system.

Using a Permalog+ AMR/AMI Leak Logger
When.working.with.the.Permalog+.system,.consider.
the.following..
•. . Keep.Permalog+.AMR/AMI.leak.loggers.away.
from.computer.hard.drives..The.strong.magnet.
attached.to.the.Permalog+.can.result.in.loss.of.
data.should.the.magnet.come.too.close.to.a.hard.
drive.
•. . To.activate.a.Permalog+.logger,.simply.swipe.the.
magnet.of.one.leak.logger.over.the.top.of.the.unit.
to.be.activated..The.LED.will.flash.several.times.
and.then.once.every.five.seconds..If.the.LED.is.
not.flashing,.swipe.again.

•. The.blinking.LED.indicators.on.the.top.of.the.
Permalog+.logger.indicate.if.the.unit.is.in.Leak.
mode.or.No.Leak.mode..In.Leak.mode,.the.red.
LED.will.blink..In.No.Leak.mode,.the.green.LED.
will.blink..Because.these.LEDs.are.not.bright,.you.
may.need.to.shield.the.LEDs.from.surrounding.
light.sources.to.determine.if.an.LED.is.flashing.
•. Prior.to.installation.we.suggest.that.you.contact.
your.local.police,.fire,.and.water.departments..
Provide.them.with.photos.and.brief.them.on.
the.operation.of.the.system..This.could.prevent.
emergency.services.from.identifying.the.
equipment.as.a.potentially.harmful.device.
•. Use.the.installation.tether.to.remove.and.install.the.
device.in.the.valve.box..Do.not.use.the.AMR/AMI.
