Note:.Do.not.over-tighten.the.magnet.as.the.stud.
of.the.magnet.makes.contact.with.the.sensor..In.
a.lift-and-shift.system,.it.is.important.to.check.the.
tightness.every.time.the.leak.logger.is.retrieved..
The.magnets.tend.to.loosen.when.removed.from.
the.valve.key.
1.. Before.placing.a.GALAXY.Permalog+.into.a.valve.
box,.record.the.eight-digit.serial.number.labeled.on.
GALAXY.Permalog+.on.a.deployment.record.so.
the.location.of.each.logger.is.known..
2.. To.activate.a.Permalog+.logger,..swipe.the.magnet.
of.a.leak.logger.over.the.top.of.the.unit..An.LED.
will.flash.several.times.and.then.once.every.five.
seconds..If.the.LED.is.not.flashing,.swipe.it.again.
3.. Place.the.GALAXY.Permalog+.over.the.valve.box.
Note: .The.Permalog+.leak.logger.should.be.
placed.carefully.on.a.clean.valve.key.
You.may.need.to.scrape.the.valve.key.to.assure.that.
a.good.contact.is.made..Failure.to.establish.a.good.
contact.between.the.Permalog+.and.valve.key.could.
result.in.poor.performance.and.erroneous.readings.
4.. Slowly.lower.the.GALAXY.Permalog+.into.the.
valve.box.using.the.attached.installation.tether.

logger.reaches.the.valve.key,.it.attaches.to.the.key.

This.section.describes.the.most.efficient.procedure.
for.placing.a.GALAXY.Permalog+.AMI.leak.logger..It.
is.a.guideline.that.you.can.modify.to.suit.your.specific.
installation.
Before.you.begin:
•
Remove.all.magnet.keepers.and.plastic.
washers.from.the.Permalog+.leak.loggers.
•
Verify.that.all.Permalog+.magnets.are.snug..
Install and Position the GALAXY AMI
Radio Endpoint
1.. Verify.that.the.installation.tether.is.wrapped.around.
the.GALAXY.AMI.radio.endpoint.
2.. Place.all.of.the.cables.in.the.valve.box,.underneath.
the.GALAXY.radio.endpoint.
3.. Place.the.GALAXY.radio.endpoint.and.mounting.
bracket.into.the.valve.box.
4.. Push.the.GALAXY.radio.endpoint.down.so.that.its.
top.is.about.one.to.two.inches.below.the.valve.box.
