Cutting Odd Shapes, Oversize or Small Pieces
1. Planyourworksoanoddshapedworkpiececannotsliporpinchtheblade.Whencuttingmaterial
likemolding,itmustlieflatorbeheldbyafixture.Donotallowthematerialtorock,twistorslip.
2. Securesaggingworkpieceswithsawhorses,tablesorotheradditionalsupports.
3. Donotcutsmallworkpiecesthatyoumustholdcloserthan4inchesfromtheblade.
4. Properlysupportroundmaterialwhencutting.Dowelrodsandtubinghaveatendencytorollwhile
beingcut.Thiscouldallowthebladeto“bite”intothematerialcausingahazardouscondition.Hold
roundmaterialinplaceusingclampsorotherfixtures.
5. Inspecttheworkpiecefornailsorotherforeignobjectsbeforeitiscut.
6. Donotallowanyonetostandbehindthesaworclosetotheworkpiecewheredebriscanbe
thrown.
7. Operateyoursawinaclear,safeenvironment.
8. Avoidcontactwiththerotatingblade.Donotweargloves,looseclothingorjewelry.Tiebacklong
hairandrolllongsleevesabovetheelbow.
9. UnplugthepowercordfromtheelectricaloutlettoavoidinjuryfromaccidentalstartingofyourMiter
Saw.Makesurethepowercordisunpluggedduringbladeinstallation,performingmaintenanceor
makingadjustments.
10.Avoidelectricalshock.Donottouchthemetalbladesonthepowercordplugwhenremovingor
installingtheplugintoanelectricaloutlet.
11.Preventfirehazards.Donotoperatethesawnearflammableliquids,vaporsorgases.
12.ToavoidinjuryfromunexpectedsawmovementwhenoperatingyourMiterSaw,usethesawona
firmlevelsurfacewithadequatespaceforhandlingandsupportingtheworkpiece.Besurethesaw
cannotmovewhenoperated.Securethesawtoaworkbenchortablewithwoodscrews,orbolts,
washersandnuts.
13.TomoveyourMiterSaw,unplugthepowercordfromtheelectricaloutlet.LocktheHandleinthe
downpositionusingtheHandleLatch.
14.Avoidbackinjuries.Obtainhelpwhenitisnecessarytoraisethesawmorethan10inches.Bend
yourkneeswhenliftingthesaw.
15.CarryyoursawbythecarryingHandleorbase.Donotcarryyoursawbythepowercordorthe
triggerhandle.Carryingthesawbythepowercordcouldcausedamagetotheinsulationorthewire
connectionsresultinginelectricshockorfire.
