Squaring the Saw Blade to the Guide Fence
WARNING: BesurethattheMiterSawisswitchedOFFandunpluggedfromthepower
sourcebeforeperforminganyworkonthetool.Failuretounplugthesawmayresultin
accidentalstart-up,causingpossibleseriousbodilyinjury.
1. UnplugtheMiterSaw.
2. LoosentheMiterLockKnob.RotatetheMiterTableandmovepointertothe0ºposition.
3. TightentheMiterLockKnobsecurely.
4. Pullthesawheaddowncompletelyandlockthesawheadintothetransportposition.
5. Layasmallframingsquareortri-squareontheMiterTable.Placeonelegofthesquareagainstthe
GuideFenceandslidetheotherlegofthesquareagainstaflatpartoftheSawBlade.(Besurethe
squarecontactstheflatpartoftheSawBladeandnotthebladeteeth.)
6. CheckthattheedgeofthesquareandtheSawBladeareparallel
alongtheentirelengthofthesquare'sedge.
7. Ifthefrontorbackportionofthebladeanglesawayfromthesquarer's
edge,adjustingtheGuideFenceisnecessary.
8. UsingtheAllenwrench,loosenthetwohexbolts(Fig.3)thatsecure
theGuideFencetothesaw'sstationarytable.
9. WhileholdingonelegofthesquareagainsttheGuideFence,
slowlymovetheGuideFencetotheleftorrightuntiltheSawBlade
isparallelwithsquare'sotherleg.
10.Carefullytightenthetwohexboltsandrecheckthebladealignmentasinsteps5and6.
