Tools required:
Ratchet
9/16” Deepwell Socket
Pipe Wrench
Gas Leak Testing Solution
Pipe Sealant
Directions
1) Turn toggle switch that is located on the control panel to the OFF position.
2) Unplug heater power cord from its receptacle.
3) Turn ball valve to the closed position.
4) Shut OFF gas supply up stream of the heater’s gas hose.
5) Disconnect gas hose from the ball valve.
6) Attach pipe wrench to 3/4 in. pipe nipple that extends from the gas valve to the ball
valve, turn counter clockwise removing the 3/4 in. pipe nipple and the ball valve.
7) Disconnect the red and green wires going to the gas valve.
8) Remove the bolt located directly beneath the brass orifice, from the under side of the
heater bottom.
9) Remove the gas valve from the heater.
10) Remove orifice from the gas valve assembly.
11) Apply pipe sealant to threads, and install new orifice on the end of the gas valve.
12) Mount gas valve assembly to heater by reinstalling mounting bolt into the bottom of
the brass orifice.
13) Apply pipe sealant to the threads of the 3/4 in. pipe nipple and reinstall the ball valve
assembly.
14) Connect wires to the gas valve.
15) Apply pipe sealant to the threads of the ball valve and connect gas hose.
16) Turn main gas supply ON.
17) Turn ball valve to the ON position.
18) Make sure gas valve switch is turned fully counter clockwise to the ON position.
19) Plug power cord into the receptacle.
20) Turn toggle switch that is located on the control panel to the ON position.
21) Check for gas leaks. (Soap and water work well.)
