MOUNTING PROCEDURE
Your optic’s mount is the link between your firearm and your optic. It is very important to have a solid
connection between the two in order to ensure proper function of all components. VISM has made
installation fast and easy for the VDFLG142 by incorporating a Quick Release Mount System. You should
place your firearm on a secure platform, such as a gun vise, before performing any of the following
procedures.
This Quick Release Mount is equipped with an Auto-Locking feature. It will automatically lock the Quick
Release Lever in the Closed position, to prevent accidental opening. To Unlock the Auto-Lock, use your
thumb to pull the Auto-Lock switch back towards the shooter (Unlocking it) and begin swinging the Quick
Release Lever to the Open Position. When you swing the Quick Release Lever to the Closed Position, it will
automatically Lock the Quick Release Lever Closed.
CAUTION: CAREFULLY FOLLOW ALL OF THE MOUNTING PROCEDURES. FAILURE TO DO
SO CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR OPTIC OR FIREARM
CAUTION: BE SURE THAT YOUR FIREARM IS UNLOADED AND POINTED IN A SAFE
DIRECTION. PRACTICE SAFE FIREARM HANDLING PROCEDURES AT ALL TIMES.
1. Begin by loosening the Mount Locking Nut on the left side of the mount. To perform this action,
move the Quick Release Lever to the closed position pointing towards the Eyepiece. Begin by
loosening the Hex Lock Nut on the left side of the mount. Using a wrench, turn the Hex Lock Nut
counter-clockwise to loosen it.
2. Next, turn the Quick Release Lever to the open position pointing towards the Objective Lens.
Using a flat blade screwdriver, loosen the Slotted Rail Tension Adjustment Screw in order to fit the
mounting unit to the rail on your firearm. Seat the Red Dot on top of your firearm’s optics rail with
the Objective Lens pointing towards the muzzle. Shoulder the firearm and adjust the position of the
Red Dot on the optics rail. Once you have your Red Dot positioned properly, close the Quick
Release Lever. Now, tighten the Slotted Rail Tension Adjustment Screw until it is snug using a flat
blade screwdriver.
3. At this point your Red Dot and mount are in place, but they are not yet anchored to the firearm
solidly. Open the Quick Release Lever and make small adjustments to the Slotted Rail Tension
Adjustment Screw. Open and close the Quick Release Lever checking the tightness of the mount.
Perform this action as many times as necessary until the mount is set firmly atop the rail.
CAUTION: It does not take a lot of force to get this unit mounted securely. Be certain not to over
tighten the Slotted Rail Tension Adjustment Screw to avoid stripping the threads. Damage can
also occur to Quick Release Lever if too much force is applied
4. Once you have properly tighten the Slotted Rail Tension Adjustment Screw and checked the rail
tension of the mount connection by opening and closing the Quick Release Lever, you can now
tighten the Hex Lock Nut to secure the adjustments you have made. Tighten the Hex Lock Nut
with the Quick Release Lever in the closed position for best results. Be sure not to over tighten the
Hex Lock Nut to avoid stripping it. You have now successfully mounted your Red Dot. By simply
