QPHY-10GBASE-T Tx Testing
This section covers the transmitter compliance tests.
Test Preparation
Before beginning any test or data acquisition, the oscilloscope should be warmed for at least 20
minutes.
Calibration is automatic under software control and no manual calibration is required. This
procedure will be run again if the temperature of the oscilloscope changes by more than a few
degrees.
Required Equipment
• Teledyne LeCroy WaveMaster 8 Zi-A, LabMaster 9 Zi-A or LabMaster 10 Zi oscilloscope
with QualiPHY version 7.4 or higher and an activated QPHY-10GBASE-T software
option
• TF-10GBASE-T test fixture, or equivalent
• CAT6 cable (included with TF-10GBASE-T fixture kit)
• 2 SMA-SMA cables (included with TF-10GBASE-T fixture kit)
Required Test Modes
The test script requires that you place the DUT (Device Under Test) in the required test modes.
The script will prompt you to do so before each specific test, but it is recommended that you
ensure the DUT is capable of being placed in the required test modes before beginning testing.
QPHY-10GBASE-T Tx Test Configurations
Test configurations include variable settings, limit sets, and test selections. See
for a description of each variable and its default value. See the
for more information about the default test limits.
All Tests
There is only one configuration to choose from. This configuration enables all tests to be
performed.
QualiPHY will indicate which ports to connect to on the TF-10GBASE-T fixture (e.g. A+/A-) as
each test is run.
