DECADE RESISTANCE BOX
The PASCO Model PI-9588 Decade Resistance Box lets you select a
resistance from 0 to 1,111,110 in increments of 1 Accuracy on
all ranges is 1%, 0.1
Important: When using the Resistance Box, always set the
resistance high enough so that the power dissipation in the
box does not exceed 1 watt.
To use the Resistance Box:
1. Before connecting the Resistance Box, evaluate your circuit to
determine R , the minimum resistance value for which the power
dissipated in the Resistance Box will not exceed 1 watt. Use the
switches to set the resistance to a value greater than or equal to
R
2. Connect the Resistance Box to your circuit using leads with banana
plug connectors. When adjusting the resistance value be sure that
the resistance is always at least as great as R . If you modify your
circuit, you will need to reevaluate R
