Absorbent Cartridge
The absorbent cartridge 12217 has been designed to
trap radioactive iodine in both molecular and organic
forms (methyl iodine). Designed for pneumatic circuits
requiring gamma activity control, it is integrated to
radioprotection devices intended for:
• Measurement of weekly overlapping releases of
nuclear reactors in the environment
• Continuous monitoring of gaseous effl uents
• Detectors, controllers and sampling monitors with
fi xed fi lter.
Cartridge 12217 is a cylindrical capsule in rigid
thermoplastic material containing activated charcoal.
Faces of the cartridge come in the form of circular
grids through which air is fi ltered. Pressure drop in
line fi ltering is negligible and has no infl uence on the
controlled circuit fl ow rate.
These features allow a high trapping effi ciency of
iodine, for a wide temperature and humidity range.
