PUMP MODULE OPERATION
There are two pumps in the pump module, one for chiller re-circulating and other chilled
water through the process. The pumps run independently of each other, however, the chiller
pump must be on for any of the compressors to be active. On some system, there might be
four (4) pumps. On this configuration, two are for re-circulating and two are for process. One
of each is back up. The controller is set up for four pumps configuration.
The reservoir holds 300-350 gallons of water. When the water temperature increases, in the
reservoir, above the set point plus differential, the chiller(s) should be activated and leave
alone.
PUMPS OPERATION
To start the pumps/system, press “ESC” key to bring to the status screen. Use the down
arrow key to scroll to “System on/off” screen. On the remote, pressing “ON/OFF” key will
bring to the same screen. Next, pressing the “Enter” key to move the cursor the on/off field,
and use the arrows key to toggle the system on or off.
Each pump is equipped with external overload protection device. A contact from each starter
is wired on the controller. If pumps shut off on overload, the contactor will open, and the
controller alarm will activated
Chiller Pump Flow Switch
A flow is mounted on the process return line to ensure flow return to the reservoir. This flow
switch activates when the system is ON. During initial start up, the control is programmed for
15sec flow delay. This setting is adjustable. After 15 sec set time, if there is no flow return to
the reservoir, an alarm will active, and a descriptive detail is display on the controller.
Once the system is ON, the compressor(S) will activate automatically based on temperature
setting. Chiller/Compressor operation will discuss in the chiller module operation section.
Alarm Handling
In the event of alarm(s), the red pilot light on the main enclosure is illuminated as well as the
alarm button on the controller. Pressing the alarm key will display type of failure. Please
refer to the alarm section for descriptive detail and suggestion solution.
Once the failure has been identified and repaired, press alarm button again, and scroll down
to the screen that provide instruction to clear the alarm.
